Eating Everyday Food, Every Day

If you’re here, it means you love eating.

And maybe you believe that just because you eat something every day doesn’t mean it’s boring.

I help curious foodies discover the hidden stories behind the “everyday” foods they eat every day. Food tells us who we are and where we’ve come from, and I want to relish all of the details on my plate.

Since 2015, I’ve been telling stories about food and the people who make it. I’ve worked as a food and wine tour guide in southern Spain, a sommelier in Australia, and helped connect locals and travellers with foodie communities around the world.

Welcome to the world of everyday food! Let’s find the magic in the simplest foods, together.

About me

I’m David, the brains and tongue behind the Everyday Food Blog.

I grew up in Brisbane, Australia, a city most famous for avocados and koalas with chlamydia. In 2014 I moved to the city of Seville in southern Spain, and although I only planned on staying for 6 months, it became my home for more than 5 years! I fell in love with local culture and local people, but it’s also where I fell in love with food.

Food was my gateway to Spanish culture, Spanish language, and local people. Through every bite, I learnt a bit more about local life and Spanish history. Food also became my career! I found a passion for all things edible and drinkable, and translated that passion into a gig as a food and wine tour guide, sharing my love of tapas and vino with travellers from around the world.

I realised that food and wine are just stories waiting to be told. Every dish can teach you something about the place it comes from and the people who make it. I’m back in Australia now, working as a sommelier in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, and I’m still telling stories about food, wine, and culture.

No matter where I travel or what I eat, I’m searching to find the hidden stories of the everyday food we eat every day. Welcome aboard!
